The song was originally titled "Le Moribund" by Jacques Brel. It became a hit in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom after Terry Jacks translated and retitled it as "Seasons In The Sun." The single was released in 1973 and an album by the same name came out in January 1974. (Amazon does not list the album, but Jacks' version of the song can be found on several compilations.)

Fast forward a few months, and I'm surprised to say that I've grown to love and appreciate my new stepmom. It hasn't been easy, but we've put in the effort to build a strong relationship. Of course, there were challenges along the way. I struggled with feelings of guilt and loyalty towards my mom. I worried that by bonding with Sarah, I was somehow betraying my mom's memory. But Sarah was understanding and reassuring. She reminded me that she wasn't trying to replace my mom, but rather to support and care for me in a different way.
